Students with parents who are involved in their school tend to have fewer behavioral problems and better academic performance and are more likely to complete high school than students whose parents are not involved in their school.
Party To Achieve (P.T.A.)
Party to Achieve is a culturally-based parental engagement program that utilizes an empowerment curriculum to guide and support intentional conversations about current education challenges facing urban parents. Our curriculum will help parents with key principles such as, Changing the Culture of the Home, What to do with an IEP/504 Plan, How to get involved in the school and Social-Emotional skills.
Building upon their individual and collective strength, parents of all backgrounds discover ways to think differently about what Parent Engagement is and how Parent Engagement can change academic success.
GPS has over 20 years of experience helping schools change the culture and climate in their buildings. These principles aid to improve student achievement while establishing a culture focused on building a positive climate between school and home.
Research has shown that when parents are involved with their child’s education regardless of their income or background, students are more likely to succeed.
Party to Achieve will be a partnership between GPS Educational Services and the local school. PTA will serve as the comprehensive system for family and community engagement to provide families with the training, information and support needed to help them become full partners in education.
